As 1980 was coming to an end, Kinnikuman was gaining some serious ground, Even going to be in the top 3 along with Shonen Jump's New Golden Boy Dr. Slump and other Shonen Jump titles several times throughout the 1980s, but a new year brought new big plans for Kinnikuman, Like reverting back to it's Ultraman roots. It went as well as you'd expect, did anyone in 1980 go "This story's good, but you know what'd be AWESOME? If it reverted back to it's goofy episodic nature..." Yeah, me neither, and I was -15 years old that year...

This is the Final blog I'll post all year, but I've got exciting things for 2016, What a year for tokusatsu, we've got Ninninger, Drive finished it's run, Power Rangers redeemed itself with Dino Charge, Ghost came (ummmmm.... Yay?), some niche toku like GARO and Fujiyama Ichiban came and went, and this is also the year tokusatsu that's not your typical Godzilla and Power Rangers became profitable, with more and more toku being released here legally.We've got some big things in store for 2016. One big thing that came out was Ultraman X (not to be confused with Ultraseven X or Kamen Rider X), showing currently running toku can be watched legally, but was it good?

Today we're going to talk about Gingama... Wait there's a smudge from the A&W I was drinking last night. I'm actually reviewing Ultraman Ginga S...

Get the hate mail ready, I mean go to your email account/client to send Death Threats to me. I'm not a big fan of Ultraman... Do I hate it? NO!!!! I rather kind of like it. but once you've seen Ultraman, you've kind of seen Ultraman. This Especially goes for the Showa/Early Heisei era Ultra shows. There's its strong points, like the creative monsters (a la Power Rangers/Super Sentai (special mention goes to that totem pole monster from Mebius), and the designs of the Ultras themselves, especially the later Heisei Ultras. I believe I talked about Ginga Orignial a year ago, and needless to say, IT SUCKED!!!!! Bland characters, religious undertones, and an abuse of filler. Ginga S is longer, but is it better than The Original?

There isn't that much info on how Kinnikumnan came to be, but I think one day at a Japanese school, school, Yoshinori Nakai showed his best friend a sketch of a goofy looking Ultraseven and Takashi Shiamda was impressed, They were interested in becoming a mangaka duo, they were looking for a name and noticed one of their farts at a picnic smelled like a boiled egg. They decided to call themselves Yudetamago, after the Japanese word for said food. They submitted manga like Gong no Desu, a wrestling manga which would later for shadow what the series would become, and Mammoth to their favorite Magazine, Weekly Shonen Jump. While never being picked up for full series, Kinnikuman was picked up for 2 one shots, and later a full manga. This would later become a goofy Ultraman parody called Kinnikuman.

THERE GOES TOKYO!!!!!! GO GO GODZILLA!!!!!! Yes, the King of Monsters turned 60 a few days ago. Let's have a huge birthday bash for our favorite giant T-Rex Stegosaurus Gorilla Whale Creature Thing by reviewing his very first movie. THE ENGLISH VERSION, BECAUSE THAT'S THE WAY I ROLL!!!!!!
