Ultraman Mebius and the Ultraman Brothers movie review

What can be said about Ultraman in Japan that hasn't been said already, He's the original hero of his sorts. He could transform, he could grow huge, He's one of the biggest things in Japan (no pun intended), and he still is having trouble being marketable outside of Japan. In 2006, they actually released an Ultraman 40th anniversary Movie. Can this hero enlarge to new hights with this movie.


STORY:


20 years ago, the Ultra Brothers were fighting a giant monster as always, this time they were fighting a monster known as Yapool, and traps him in another dimension when he lands on earth. 20 years later we see the lives of our old Ultramen. Our main hero of this film is Mirai. Who befriends a kid and that kid isn't into Ultraman or GUYS (The main organization of Ultraman Mebius), after a kaiju almost smashed his dog, Art. A vampire bat like kaiju known as Alien Temperor fights Mebius. After that Mirai tries to get the kid back into Ultraman again, but fails. He then meets the original Ultra Brothers, Ultraman classic, Seven, Jack, and Ace. The kid's big sister finds a shape shifting fish like monster known as Alien Zarab who takes her hostage and... DOD DERN IT, ANOTHER SCENE WITH THAT KID!!! WE DO NOT WATCH TOKUSATSU FOR LITTLE KIDS!!! WE WATCH IT FOR ANYTHING OTHER THAN THAT!!! Anyway, Zarab takes the form of Ultraman Mebius and terrorizes the city. The real Ultraman Mebius fights the alien, Then fights the giant teleporting chicken monster known as Alien Guts, Who traps Mebius, and then the whole city get's into a dark barrier. The original Ultramen argue for a bit before transforming. They fight Guts and the rock kaiju known as Alien Nackle. Their color meter is blinking and they're about to die. They then free Mebius and fight together, but are trapped in the process. Mirai weak and bruised can't seem to fight anymore, and The monsters terrorize the city more. Mirai helps the kid and grown back to Ultraman Mebius. He fight the aliens more. The Ultra brothers reminisce about their old adventures. They defeat Guts but Nackle Releases the U-Killasaurus (Yes that's what it's called, just go with it) by sacrificing himself. U-Killasaurus Evolves into a UNGODLY CREATURE!!!! They try to fight it but they're too weak, They just get thrown and flailed around. The ultra brothers are joined by Ultraman Taro and Ultraman Zoffy, but the monster is still too powerful, The ultra brothers give Mebius their power and he becomes MEBIUS INFINITY!!!! HE PRETTY MUCH DRILLS A HOLE INTO THE MONSTER AND FREES THE KID'S SISTER!!!! Mebius gives his power back to the original Ultramen and thn say their final goodbyes.

It was a pretty good story minus all the parts with the kid. but it just feels a bit simple.


CHARACTERS:


Mirai is not like your typical cocky young upstart you see in most toku, he actually wants to be like his heroes but not in a suckup-y way. The Ultra brothers were AWESOME, They had personality, and and were like celebrities, they can come of as somewhat of a few jerks but they were badass, Great to see them come out of retirement. THE KID TAKATO WAS ******* ANNOYING, AND SO MUCH OF THE MOVIE IS SPENT ON HIM, AND HE'S EMO!!!!! EVEN WHEN HE LIGHTENS UP, HE STILL SUCKS!!!! Takato's sister, Aya, I didn't care for. THE ALIENS WERE WASTED IN THIS FLICK, THEY COULD HAVE MADE THEM AWESOME, BUT THEY'RE JUST AS BLAND AS THE PUTTY PATROL!!! (And That's Sad)


PRESENTATION:


The action was fast paced and there would have been more of it if it weren't for that STUPID KID!!! Too bad the CGI kills it. Yoshiette, use the Video game resemblance...


OH DEAR... It's Just above Dreamcast graphics.

Well, that says a lot. Thank you for the help. Not to mention the subs suck. Fushigi-Chan spelled Mebius Moebius. That's just the least of the misspellings.


OVERALL:


This is a pretty good movie, but it does have flaws, LIKE THAT DOD DERNED KID!!! If you are an Ultraman fan of any kind, go see this movie.

I give this 3 Ultraman Mebius henshin devices out of 4.
