A. Yoshi Opinion Piece: Nintendo Movies, Good or Bad Idea?

I admit I could talk about the new ghostbusters, but I don't want to discuss news for the sake of discussing news, So I'll say a few words on the issue, Just because a female starring movie doesn't get all kind words said about it doesn't mean it's misogynistic, The all female cast isn't the problem in concept, it's just that these are generic chick flick protagonists. Producing clickbait articles and videos Saying this is sexist is insulting to actual sexist media, and using these same posts to say this has strong females is insulting to actual strong females in media. Anyway here's the main attraction of this blog...

Nintendo Movies, are they going to be any good? They could... Video game movies could be interesting as serial features similar to the MCU or Harry Potter, but they need breathing room to quasi emulate games. Game movies are belived to fail because of lack of input from the audience, but the real reason they fail is either because A) It makes a rip off of what the games were inspired by, or B) Because they have unique ideas with staff who don't know what to do with them. That all might change soon with Nintendo having a lot of creative input on what goes where. "But didn't EA do movies at one point and fail too?" I hear you say. Don't worry, I'm pretty sure They'll have enough creative input to make a decent film, but if Nintendo's not as bad as they say, they'll give enough input to the director. They need to get some fresh out of film school directors to do these films, this might sound weird, but think about it, these guys grew up with video games as a part of their entire lives, so they know what the ins and outs of films to games are, or better yet get some 70s/80s kids to do such a film, they probably grew up with Nintendo/video games too, and are much wiser as filmmakers...

That's step one, step 2 is to know your source material, just look at other mediums translated into movies, specifically comic books, Comic books are allowed to take liberties, build worlds around costumed weirdos is colored undies, and actually get their audience. That should be your top priority, Don't be so concerned with critic scores, just realize this, if your audience is happy, then you should be happy too. Movies are not supposed to be video games, but you should at least try to make something that faithfully adapts the games.. Read forums and social media to see what people want, and no that doesn't include the "Don't even think about it, Look what happened to Mario!!!" posts. That was 23 years ago, I know I'm not the same person I was even just 3 years ago, Guess what happened that happened around this me along this timelapse to me... Besides the film landscape has changed since then. The Geeks own Hollywood, and Social media has changed the way we look at movies forever, if only Hollywood could look beyond all the piracy and see all the good the internet has done for Hollywood. now if you excuse me, I've got a pitch meeting with Square Enix and Walt Disney...

EDIT: As it turns out These aren't live action, but animated, now I'm not entirely sure about these films. I admit this does offer a better chance to adapt the games and more games can be adapted, but You might as well watch a cutscene rather than pay $20+ to see it. I just want to see a good live action zelda movie before I die. *sigh* It's just Nintendo being Nintendo, They're probably still worried we'll get another 1993 Super Mario movie style disaster... FEAFML...
