A. Yoshi Opinion Piece: The biggest problem with the Power Rangers Reboot (so far)...

Last weekend I briefly touched on the Power Rangers Reboot designs, but now's a great time to rip the Power Rangers reboot a new asshole...




First and foremost, There's no problem with updating the designs, that happens all the time in reboots. What I do have a problem with is them looking like Michael Bay Gritty Reboot crap. In case you haven't seen Rita Repulsa, The new Rangers, or the logo, look that stuff up on your own, but honestly the biggest problem with the PR Reboot is that it doesn't get Power Rangers. The director wants to make it gritty, which is already a death sentence for reboots of any kind. It doesn't attract a new audience at the risk of alienating younger fans, it disrespects the source material by giving the source material the middle finger and a steals your money faster than you can say "Alpha 5 is from Edenoi" Five Times fast. The gritty reboot thing didn't work for Transformers (maybe except for Beast Wars), Ninja Turtles, GI Joe, DC movies (save for the Dark Knight trilogy), and the list keeps going on. What happened to telling a good story, over looking "pretty"...



It's times like these that make us question "What is Power Rangers?" Well for one thing it doesn't look like robocop, iron man, or whatever else. Rita Repulsa doesn't look like she belongs in lord of the rings. and I'm going to save you the trouble right now, The Megazord is going to look like a Bayformer. The power rangers knew when to be cheesy, it knew when to be serious, IE it was a kids show anyone could watch, especially seasons like Time Force, RPM, In Space, and Lost Galaxy, even those seasons had their own set of Cheese to them, heck, even the most serious of Toku had cheese to them, Yes even freaking GARO!!!! It's not rocket science to figure out that there's 2 audiences for such a movie, kids and millennials wishing they were kids, in fact it's common F**king sense... The movie comes out on March of next year (AKA Media suicide season), so Let's find out how badly hollywood can screw up the childhoods of 2 generations of kids and counting,,,
