Random Rubbish Roundup #11: Kids building Fighting Gundams, Oranges, Bananas, and Grapes falling from the sky, Secret agents from SHIELD

Well it's my Birthday in less than a couple weeks, and it's obvious to some people what I want for my birthday wish. *Holds picture of ????????* *Goes into feedle position*

5 minutes later...

Well I want to hold off on the stories until my birthday, AND I WANT A BIRTHDAY BLOG IN LESS THAN 2 WEEKS!!!!!! ALSO I WANT YOSHIETTE 1 (AS ANNOYING AS SHE IS), WADDLE DEE, AND PSYDUCK OUT OF JAIL!!!!! But anyway, today's R.Cubed is about 3 new TV shows; Gundam Build Fighters, Kamen Rider Gaim, and Agents of SHIELD. No time for transition, so let's do it, shall we?




R.CUBED STORY #1: GUNDAM BUILD FIGHTERS:

So far, This show is underwhelming. Story: A bunch of Kids with custom Gunplas use them to enter a tournament to get lot's of money and bragging rights. The concept is good, G Gundam with Gunplas and elements of... of... Take your pick of the following series...

Pokemon
Digimon
Yugioh
Monster Rancher
Beyblade
Bakugan
Any Toku with Collectibles as a gimmick (Gokaiger, any recent Kamen Rider Series, Ultraman Ginga)

The problem with this series is that the stakes are currently really low, If you lose a match, you just get knocked out of the tournament, In Yu-Gi-Oh, There's more to it than that. speaking of. In the above series (and by extension, any G Gundam especially) it was a tournament to save the world from an evil corporation who wants to use that money to... you know. Also all the competitors are just Regular Kids. The series is just 1/3 the way to completion so It's not game just yet. I give this 2 Build Strike Gundams out of 4.


R.CUBED STORY #2: KAMEN RIDER GAIM:

Like Wizard, Gaim is a love it or hate it series. But to tell you the truth, it's a ehhhhhh..... series. it's not a bad series by any means, just not a particularly good series.It's a better Kamen Rider anniversary series than Fourze was, but Still it leaves a lot to be desired. For starters, here's the story:

KAMEN RIDER GAIM IS A STORY ABOUT SOME KID WHO'S PART OF A BREAK DANCE TEAM WHEN HE FINDS A FRUIT LOCK CALLED A LOCK SEED HE GET'S FROM ANOTHER DIMENSION THAT CONTAINS COLLECTIBLE CREATURES INVES, WHICH ARE PART OF A GAME WHICH EVEN RIDERS CAN PLAY FOR THEIR LOCKSEEDS. SO FAR 4 PEOPLE HAVE A SENGOKU DRIVER THAT TURNS PEOPLE INTO RIDERS WITH FRUIT ARMOR THAT HAS ANCIENT ARMOR GIMMICKS LIKE SAMURAIS, KNIGHTS, CHINESE SOLDIERS, VIKINGS, AMONG OTHERS.

So yeah. It's confusing as ****. To be fair the action is good, but another problem is the theme, It's just not as catchy or as memorable as other Kamen Rider Themes like "Life is SHOWTIME" or "NEXT LEVEL". But I have to give this a 2.75 Sengoku Drivers out of 4.


R.CUBED STORY #3: MARVEL'S AGENTS OF SHIELD:

Hopefully we can get out of this realm of mediocrity with this. Story? Basically so far this is very episodic, but There might be more interesting stories as it goes on. This feels like a Men In Black series with superheroes instead of aliens. Basically Shield investigates superpowered weirdness all over the world, tehre's not that many marvel characters that are well known. the main reason I really want to watch more is that all the potential stuff like future marvel movie episodes. I want to see what heroes they introduce like Black Panther, Wasp, Ant Man, Doctor Strange, Namor...
