OK that was the short version, the long version goes like this, It's not that great, even by modern Simpsons standards... The idea is good in theory, especially since 9 times out of 10 Futurama is a pretty good show, and The Simpsons can still produce somewhat of a gem every once in a while if they try hard and the planets are aligned in such a way (see this year's Treehouse of Horror surprise), but this isn't one of those. It's not quite the disaster Simpsons Guy or Life of Brian was, but had the jokes been more offensive and the episode not been so dull, it would've been close. Still what's the story? Bart creates an invasion of monsters that attack in the year 3000 or whatever, and the Futurama Cast has joined the Simpsons to find out who created the monsters... The episode itself is really uninteresting and it really feels like an 11 minute episode extended to 22 minutes. The joke's are relatively harmless and the plot's simple, which is great for beginners, but there's better beginner episodes for both series. Final Verdict? Recommended if you're curious, not recommended if you want a good episode. Pretty normal ratings trap, this episode gets 2 Springfield Time Capsules out of 4...
