Nintendo Double Diamond Anniversary Retrospective Part 8: Nintendo, Now and Forever (Strong Opinions Ahead + 56k Warning) (SERIES FINALE)

Well here it is, The Big Finale to this fairly ambitious project, And it may not be as fun as the last 7...

Let me finish whydoncha... It won't be as fun as the last 7 for the second half, but the first half will be all info. It probably won't be as exciting as the last 7 with a downward slope as history gets more and more recent, but I'll be discussing The Build up to this generation, a few of the games (considering that's the whole worthwhile library of the Wii U... oops. What? A long time Nintendo fan can't pick fun at The Wii U struggling), and what caused them to fall on their face. No turning back, It's the big end...

Nintendo Double Diamond Anniversary Retrospective Part 7: The Motion of Resurrection (56k Warning)

I think right now it's safe to say the 7th generation of Video game consoles is pretty much over, with ports of 8th generation games tanking , lack of exclusives anymore, and more and more developers jumping ship to the new consoles. Nintendo knew they had to be done asap since the big three (including them) were up to bigger and better things, and the last thing hey needed was a console that was barely more graphically capable than the original XBOX. But even with a huge burden on their back, they struck back with the powerhouse of the first few years of the seventh generation...

Nintendo Double Diamond Anniversary Retrospective Part 6: The Dark Age (Again, and 56k Warning)

Before we begin, let's talk about some Nintendo News that happened lately...


First off, Nintnedo's Creator Program or whatever it is is essentially a joke... Basically put, if you still want to make a living off of Nintendo games, you either A) have to give 30% of your paycheck to the big N, only produce videos on games on the list (and no, that doesn't include Pokemon, Smash, or others...), and not include other copyrighted clips, or B) Put some of your videos on review (which could take a damn long time because Nintendo), give 40% of your money to your employer, and it's the same basic details. If other companies follow suit, it'll lead to a snowball effect leading to creator programs that screw over their employers and we'll probably have a de facto SOPA for online videos unless you get permission from your employer, and lets plays and reviews will never be the same again.

On a more positive note, we'll be getting a live action Netflix Exclusive Zelda series, which'll be a more family friendly Game of Thrones. I'm really cautious, I'd like to see how this turns out. That's all i got considering they just announced this at the time of me writing this.

Here it is... the big one, My favorite era of video games and Nintendo. The PS1-N64-Saturn era. What is it about this era that makes it so memorable? Is it the introduction of video games for a lot of people to Video Games (including myself)? Is it the high quality Games that were released in that era (Mario 64, Zelda: Ocarina, Final Fantasy VII, Metal Gear Solid, etc.)? Is it the introduction to 3D graphics? So I'm planning to do a pretty ambitious project known as the Nintendo Double Diamond Anniversary Retrospective (AKA Project Double Diamond), It'll come out on the 25th of every month to honor the 125th anniversary of the Big N, This'll take you through every bit of Nintendo's history, from Hanafuda to Smash Bros for Wii U.
