Top 10 Zelda Dungeons

I do apologize if this blog's 70% Recycled, but I wasn't happy with the original version, It wasn't really as definitive as it could've been. At any rate let's begin. So, earlier in the week I talked my favorite Zelda dungeons. Now I'm going to order them with some new faces. One dungeon per game, here we go...

#10: Turtle Rock (A Link to The Past):

On top of a mountain slab shaped like a turtle, this dungeon was a literal maze. it was challenging. had fire and laser elements, and was easy to get lost in. you got the mirror shield here. It didn't come into it's own until ocarina of time, but it was a significant upgrade from the hero's shield. Also Dat boss though... It was Twinrova before Twinrova was a thing. All this is enough to get this the 10th spot. It only gets better from here.

#9: Eagle's Tower (Link's Awakening):

Also on top of a mountain is my #9 Selection, Ganon... Errrr... I mean Eagle's Tower. You had to knock a section of the tower down by destroying the pillars.  You also get the Mirror Shield here, where it fulfils a similar purpose. You also got a sidescrolling boss in this dungeon, not to mention all the Platforming you'll do here. Some Zelda games games allowed you to jump with Roc's Feather/Cape, I guarantee you that this isn't the last time you'll see it on this list...

#8: Ancient Cistern (Skyward Sword):

To quote my previous list, "What is it about water dungeons that the Zelda team just can't get right? Ancient Cistern is the best water dungeon in a 3D Zelda game, but that's mainly because the water is just another detail. There's a Buddhist aesthetic to the dungeon, the water puzzles don't completely suck, There's heaven and hell elements, and you get to play your best Indiana Jones with the new whip. Oh and Koloktos has to be the best boss in the game, just saying." That is why It gets the #8 Slot.

#7: Mutoh's Temple (Phantom Hourglass):

Another Water Dungeon, Why Not? Again, quoting from my previous list (spoiler I'll do this a lot) "With a boss as big as this thumbnail suggests, how could you go wrong. it's got Egyptian themes, booby traps, and treasure hunting. You get great puzzles involving the hammer, Water Puzzles, close escapes, and it's in a Freaking Pyramid. The Boss is also great, with pixel pushing graphics and size, jumping, and it's in full 3D..." There's still 6 more slots to this game.

#6: Sand Temple (Spirit Tracks):

After 3 trials, you go through a desert dungeon, and you go desert related enemies, skeletons, traps and treasure. After getting the Sand Wand, You could manipulate sand, and become an earthbender by moving objects around. The boss is a great sequel boss to Eox, and as you can see, he's in full 3D. This another great penultimate/desert dungeon, and that's why it gets the #6 slot.

#5: Palace of Winds (Minish Cap):

Oh the Platforming, this was City in the Sky before that was a thing. There was platforming, and you could fly like Superman. You get Roc's Cape in this dungeon. It was more of a ruins of a palace rather than a full on palace, but after the dungeon and puzzles were done, You could fight a boss high up in the Sky, where you multiply yourself, jump, and slash eyeballs. Mother. Frakking. AWESOME!!!!!! This is more than enough for my #5 Slot

#4: Wind Temple (Wind Waker):

"With an ancient Japanese feel, with wind based technology, it's not only the dungeon you get the Hookshot, you also get a lot of nature and desert themed areas. Sure babysitting Makar gets annoying, but the aesthetics, wind/technology based puzzles, and a boss who reminds me of Volvagia (from Ocarina of Time) more than makes up for it. Not to mention Did  I mention you get the Hookshot here, Freaking awesome..." With an ancient Japanese feel, mix of elements, and technological elements, this gets my #4 slot.

#3: Spirit Temple (Ocarina of Time):

"The Spirit Temple feels like it belongs in ancient Egypt. It's the ultimate test to see where you are at the game, the challenge before Ganon's castle that separates the boys from the men. It takes advantage of both Young and Adult Link, Action with a variety of enemies, and hands down the best puzzles in Ocarina of Time. It's also one of the longest dungeon in the game, and you're time is well spent. The whole dungeon feels like your in adventure story from one of those pulp magazines trying to find a legendary artifact, and you are, the Mirror Shield and Silver Gauntlets in fact..." This was one of my favorites growing up, but I've still got 2 more for you...

#2: Arbiter's Grounds (Twilight Princess):

"A literal dungeon, this is a prison for Hyrule's worst, where they rot to die. This hast a dark feel with supernatural elements. It's a mix of the spirit temple, the shadow temple, and the spirit temple, all from Ocarina of Time. Sure the item you get (Spinner) won't see much use outside this temple, but when it does get used, you get great puzzles, with you skating for dear life in a fight against Twilit Fossil Stalford." With elements of all the best dungeons in one of my favorite games of all time, how can this series get any better?

#1: Stone Tower Temple (Majora's Mask):

How about taking every thing you learned over the whole game, and using it as a final exam before facing the final dungeon... "The trials Stone Tower Itself could be a dungeon onto itself, but the penultimate dungeon to this game takes everything you've learned throughout your journey, and uses it as a final exam for this game. It has hands down the best puzzles of Majora's Mask with light puzzles, Goron puzzles, Switch Puzzles, water puzzles, flying puzzles, upside down puzzles, and there's 4 minibosses, plus an epic fight in the heavens against Twinmold..."

Yoshiette 2: Twinrova?

A. Yoshi: IF YOU MAKE A STUPID REMARK LIKE THAT AGAIN, I SWEAR TO DIN, FAYORE, AND NAYRU THAT I'LL USE YOUR HEAD AS A BOWLING BAL...

WE'RE SORRY, BUT THE FCC DOES NOT APPROVE OF PHYSICAL ASSAULT, SO THE REST OF THIS WILL NOT BE SHOWN!!!! HOWEVER YOSHI ASKED AS TO ASK YOU WHAT YOUR FAVORITE DUNGEONS ARE... LEAVE A COMMENT BELOW.
